Introduction to Meditation in Two Sessions

Brecksville Library
Tuesdays, Jan. 28 and Feb. 11, 2025
7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Lead by John Cunningham, this program offers an introduction to meditation and techniques that are helpful for finding our clear and still mind and for cultivating a compassionate heart. The first session will focus on the basics of concentration and mindfulness meditation. The second session will focus on practices that help us to open our hearts to ourselves and to the world around us. While each session stands on its own, the sessions are offered together, as the practices that we will cover complement and support each other.

Registration opens one month before each session.

Intro to Mindfulness Meditation Thought and Practice

In this course, we will explore the foundational principles of Buddhism, its core teachings, and explore the experiential nature of meditation practice. The course is designed for anyone who is new to Buddhist thought or who wants to refresh their understanding and practice. The program consists of eight 90-minutes sessions offered via Zoom. Each session will include guided meditations and a presentation on a fundamental teaching. The eight sessions are intended to build upon each other, but each can stand alone so that one can join any session without feeling lost.

There is no cost for the class but registration is required.

The series is generally offered twice per year — join our mailing list to receive notice of future offerings.
