Pack a snack and join us for this day of sitting and walking meditation and exploration of the Dharma.

Practicing on retreat is essential if one is to deepen their meditation practice. Under the special conditions of retreat, we experience a quieting of the mind and an opening of the heart and our suffering lessens. When we leave retreat, conditions change and it is more difficult to maintain that open presence and aliveness as well as the connection to love and wisdom that is experienced on retreat.

During our time together, we will practice how to nurture and maintain these beautiful qualities of mind in our everyday and sometimes quite hectic lives. This retreat will offer guided meditations as well as provide guidance and tips on how to bring the beautiful qualities of love and wisdom more fully into our daily life.

Heidi Wormser first became aware of meditation in the mid 1970’s but, despite reading about it and thinking about it, didn’t get around to actually doing it until 2014. Since then, however, she has been fully immersed in the Dharma. She has attended numerous retreats, completed a year-long study of non-dual practice with John Cunningham, and has studied the teachings of Rodney Smith, Sayadaw U Tejaniya and others. Heidi serves on the Board of IM Cleveland, leads sitting groups and co-teaches an 8-week introduction to insight meditation.

Registration

Your registration fee will go to support IM Cleveland and Southwest UU Church. In keeping with ancient tradition, the teachings of the Buddha are offered freely—the teachers receive no compensation from IM Cleveland for teaching, but rely on dana (generosity) of their students. At retreat’s end, students have an opportunity to practice dana by offering contributions.
