We all know on some level that we are going to die. Most of us push this out of our worlds for most of the time. But life will not let us ignore it at certain times. When we become aware that our life is seriously threatened, or when a loved one’s life is threatened or lost, we are forced to face the reality of death.

Exploring death, even when we are not experiencing loss, can help us to put this process into perspective. By coming close to the experience of dying, we can learn to reduce or eliminate the fear and suffering that most experience during this time. We can learn to open to death and dying, and in that opening, find deeper meaning and peace in life while we still have it.

This program is intended to allow us to come a little closer to the experience of death and dying. We will be hearing from several people who are either facing their own mortality or are losing or have lost close loved ones. We will be working with what we are hearing in a meditative state, so that we can allow ourselves to feel more deeply what is being shared.

The program will be lead by John Cunningham via Zoom and will consist of six meditation sessions offered during the fall of 2024. All sessions are on Mondays, will start at 7:00p.m., and will last between 60 and 90 minutes.
